Awesome shoes by the house mural!

Greetings everyone! I thought I'd show you a bit more of our humble townhouse today! So I decided to take some pics by our basement wall mural - a psychedelic tree that I painted with some of the Beatles' "Across the Universe" lyrics which are some of my favourite of all time. I've even got another tree mural in my room! Which, by the way is quite psychedelic. You can even see a video tour of my room that my boyfriend video shot and added to his awesome youtube channel. I shall post the link here. Trees are very precious to me, whenever I get the chance I paint them and draw them everywhere haha. They are the oldest survivors of this Earth and have seen its every change, and still are! Wouldn't mind being a tree in my next life ^_^.

Video of my room by my boyfriend Ryan Demaree:

If you've got a spare moment do stop by his channel, he's got plenty of great things to see on there such as his art debate videos, live painting videos, and even his astronomy work. There's also a few videos there of his last visit up here in Canada with me. Check him out!

Outfit-wise I am proud to say I have got myself a brand new pair of Forever 21's polka dot mary jane heels! I had my eyes on these from forums and pictures online for about a whole year now, Forever 21 wasn't selling them anymore, but just recently they have come back on stock! With ought a thought I ordered them right away, haha, before they become out of stock again. I must say they are a bit unbearable to walk in because I took them to school today and had some trouble walking on concrete getting there, nevertheless, they are a fun look and I did indeed receive many compliments on them. Gotta have a little high heel risk sometimes! Also wore one of my favourite dresses with them today, its my black and white abstract print dress with a prairie collar. This dress and I have been great buddies for over a year now, a thrifted treasure I must say :). Alrighty here go the pictures, I bid everyone a tasteful week and many adventures!

Greetings to my new grannie oxfords!

Recall that previous post where I had said I had gone vintage thrifting last week? Well I took home a lot of lovely garments with me that day, including these awesome brown grannie oxfords shoes! Actually, I hopped into a time machine at the back of good will and went back to the 60's to get these, haha. I don't know why but I am so uber proud to have found them! Especially in my size! Which is a big fat crazy 9. I hope whoever wore them in the past enjoyed them and subconsciously passed them down in honour to me haha. Now they shall remain a priceless collectible in my closet and I shall adore them so! And also wear them every now and then. Without further ado here's the shoes and an outfit I wore to school the day I decided to give them a walk into my life :)

Happy thrifting anyone!

New finds, good willing indeed

Hey there! It was a bit of a short day at school today. As I was heading out to head back home I got this sudden impulse to stop by the Good Will thrift store and see what new garments had arrived, with a little time to spare and a little money left I figured, why not? So it went as it is whenever I go there. Turned out with me trying over 20 dresses, sunglasses, blazers, shoes, checking out the vinyl records section, and galloping all over the store like a little child in a candy shop. Hours later, lets just say about 3, I finally decided on which valuable garments to take home with me, which are by the way, quite a lot. I shall be posting a few of my finds here within the next few days! Among them are this white blouse and orange   skirt, which I thought ought to be married over my body, haha.
Anyhow, happy thrifting and living whatever hours you can enjoy surrounded by frivolous things!

Orange waist skirt - Thrifted from Good Will
Beige rose ankle strap heels -  Sacha London

Farewell till next time!

Wine & Vine Tights

Here lies what I wore today, for no particular reason :) haha. I decided to be a little funky and combine plain red tights with an overhang of a weaved pattern black tights. Together they remind me of the colour of deep red wine upon seeing them from afar. I just thought it was fun to couple the two and keep my legs warm. The rest of the outfit just makes me feel good and warm up here in Canadaland.
Also I get to feature a hip peace symbol necklace! The awesome pendant was a gift from my boyfriend's brother Brandon. I finally found an outfit to wear it with. I read one time that peace symbols first started out in the 50's as a protest towards Nuclear Disarmament, in fact that's what the lines in the circle mean! Interesting eh? If you dig that fact perhaps you can do a little reading on it here?
Anyhow, tis all for today!

Black mini sweater dress - A gift from my grandmother
Pattern vest - Thrifted, tagged Northern Traditions
Black ankle strap heels - Purchased from Sirens

Thanks for stopping by!

Post - Valentine's Post

Greetings! I haven't posted for what seems like ages! Truth is school has taken a toll on any spare time I may have, and blog posting has been postponed for magic hours of peace. That time doesn't come very often in this busy month it seems! A few things have gone by! Especially that of Valentine's day which I would have loved to make a post about; my boyfriend and I shared a lovely long distance Valentine's day despite the 500 miles between us, thanks to the candour of Skype!  Long live Skype, Ryan and I's little life connector.  We decided to have ourselves a sweet Skype date each with our own home cooked meals and dressy attire in celebration of the love we've let live for over a year now. My boyfriend spoiled me with love and appreciation and even a valentine's card in the mail and even an extra gift that I will receive soon. I showered him with love that day too and sent him a gift in the mail as well. Im blessed to have an amazing man by my side who never wavers from me and strives for my happiness day in and day out, all while being miles away. Hopefully all you folks had wonderful valentine's day as well, or single's awareness day as some like to call it, nevertheless I bid positive love to all. Here's a picture of my Ryan and I in his visit up here in canada at christmas 2011. It's followed by a painting we made together one day that we named "Onward", symbolizing how we aim to work on the continuity of the love we've built.

If one of you is interested in any print reproductions of this piece or more information on my boyfriend's work, you may visit his Fine Art America account here.

Without further ado, I'll post here my red dress that I wore for our valentine's day Skype date. Cheers to my man, Ryan Demaree.
